Assessments built for
your workforce
Employment and pre-employment medicals are specialised health assessments customised to the specific requirements of your industry and worksite, performed by our multidisciplinary occupational health teams.
Two stages,
one standard
Performing a baseline assessment before a candidate starts work helps determine suitability for the role and ensures appropriate risk management. Components depend on the industry and job role.
Screener / Nurse / EP / Physiotherapist
The screening component of a medical commonly records a candidate's blood pressure, height, urinalysis, vision and weight.
- Audiometry
- Blood testing
- Drug testing (instant and/or lab DAS)
- Musculoskeletal or fitness assessments
- Spirometry
Doctor Review
Our occupational physicians record a candidate's medical history and assess the following functions:
- Abdominal
- Basic musculoskeletal
- Cardiovascular
- Nervous system
- Oral and ear
- Respiratory
- Skin
Pre-employment
medicals
A pre-employment medical is a baseline assessment of a candidate's health before they begin their role. It helps identify any health and safety risks a candidate may experience in their specific position, ensuring you hire with confidence.
- Physical examination
- Functional capacity screen
- Role-specific clearance report
- Drug & alcohol screening
Periodic
medicals
Periodic assessments provide you and your employees with evidence-based screening to ensure their health is not being adversely affected whilst performing their role. Many industries expose workers to noise, dust, chemicals or hazardous substances, periodic assessments identify and mitigate risks before they cause serious consequences.
- Audiometry & spirometry
- Skin & dermal checks
- Statutory recall management
- Tailored hazard-specific programs

DAS Screen
You will provide a urine sample, during which you may be supervised. Bring a list of medications taken in the last 30 days. Confirmatory testing may incur additional costs.
Medical Assessment
A physical assessment by a nurse or screener and Doctor. Bring prescription glasses if worn and copies of reports for any ongoing medical conditions.
Musculoskeletal & Fitness
Avoid rigorous exercise, caffeine and smoking. Wear loose comfortable clothing and closed-in footwear. Assesses range of motion, flexibility, strength and lifting technique.

A clean-shave policy is advised. Candidates with facial hair may still be tested but a disclaimer will be added indicating results cannot be relied upon.
